Travel Technology - Trapped in nwa.com Domain using NW WorldClub Wifi?

Has this ever happened to you? I log onto the web at the Northwest MSP WorldClub, agree to the T&C and click through, but find I can only navigate to pages on the Northwest Airlines website. Any attempt to call other URLs lands me back at the nwa.com start page.
When I seek out the paid Wifi service supplied by the MSP airport authorities and ante up $9.95, still sitting in the WorldClub, it works fine -- I can surf anywhere.
I'm sure there's a logical explanation for this that involves my computer settings, but I don't know what it is.
Without really knowing how their system is setup, it's hard to tell where the problem happened.
All I can say is that I'm in the MSP WC at the moment and having no issues.

I have this new tendency to even give hotzone style login screens to free connections. It isn't a big deal on a notebook, but as more and more people are accessing via PDAs and other devices, this seems to be one step backwards. In September (when I was last in the US), NWA did not have this stupid screen.

I have not had a problem for over a year using the nice free internet in any of the WC or P-Clubs. I wish I could say the same thing for the often crap internet (free and paid) in the hotels.

Very strange - ? to the OP, are you sure that the WP Password you entered was correct? Maybe that's why you couldn't navigate out of NWA.com.

I don't think there is a password -- you launch your browser, tick the T-and-C box, and you're off to the races... or should be. It really is weird.

If you're in MSP, there is a password, at least there was at the F/G WC in MSP last weekend. I've never needed a password for SEA, DTW, or MEM though.

The password in MSP (both lounges) is posted on a sign at the entrance. It's easy to miss if you don't know about it.
The online instructions are rather unclear regarding where to find the password.

Yesterday the MSN password was "joy" and the instructions still totally unclear. The speed d/l and u/l was crappy too but maybe it was because of a full WC and the nasty east coast weather.
