Travel Technology - Palm to internet via ICS over BT

I have a Palm Tungsten T5 that I would like to use to access the internet occasionally via internet connection sharing over Bluetooth on my laptop. So far, I just get timeouts, even after following what seems to be consistent guidance on setting up the connection, including the PPP script on the handheld.

Has anyone done this successfully?

I used to do this all of the time with my T|T and T|3 (before I purchased the palm WiFi SD card).
