I'm flying OZ business SYD-ICN in April. Currently looks like it will be an old-style business cabin, though one can hold out a bit of hope for a substitution of an updated aircraft.
I'm a bit worried because the OZ IFE system does not seem to get many good reviews, and a 10 hours is a long flight without a natural sleeping time allotment. It appears the IFE will be a non-AVOD PTV system; how many channels are there? Are the movies recent? What share are in English?
Am I correct in understanding that there's no in-seat power available in the old J seats?
What is the meal service like on this flight? Perhaps I can take up a good deal of my time with that.
I guess I may have to be really old-fashioned and just bring a good book. :D

Use the chopsticks and eat your rice one grain at a time and you can occupy most of the flight with the meal-seriously-how long do you want a business class meal set-up sitting in front of you?

How's about bringing Ambien and a good book? Then if the movies don't interest you and the book don't do it neither you can be guaranteed a way to pass the time that even Asiana's signature waking of all passengers for pre-arrival meal service won't effect. (I doubt the announcement, bright daylight when all window shades are opened, or cabin noise from the commencing service will wake you from an Ambien induces slumber-they'll have to shake you to get you to return the seat position for landing)
Or you could always take Qantas instead.

I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not, but I will point out that I am taking Qantas--they codeshare with Asiana on that route and don't serve it themselves.

I ddi it a couple of times last year. Once old C, once AVOD new C.
I think all but 2 movies were in English- and the non English were Korean shorts.
I can't recall being bored on the flights- after a couple of glasses of wine I had a couple of hours sleep, and then watched movies. On November flight (old C), they were a cross between recent and "classic"- I think I saw "Cars" and "Tallageda Nights". Neither of them would I have watched in normal life, but still..
