I would highly recommend any software by Spb - http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/?en

I use their Diary software, Mobile Shell, Weather, Time, and Backup. The diary software I think is the best software I ever used.

If you like classic software, an NES emulator or SNES emulator is fun IF and only IF you play games like Final Fantasy on it. Do not expect the finger dexterity for games like Mario Brothers or Zelda. I did manage to play every NES/SNES version of FF and Dragon Warrior without any issue.

I have a 2gb Micro SD that I purchased from NewEgg.com. It was a generic but I have no problems with it.

For battery extenders - I actually purchased a USB battery extender from Pocket Solutions - http://www.thepocketsolution.com/PSI-15196.html. I just carry AA batteries on long flights. One set of batteries is good for almost 24 hours of heavy use (I managed to listen to music through 36 hours of flight without running out of batteries). It pretty small and manageable for that kind of use and also will give you a quick charge when away. They also sell longer life batteries but I do not like the extra bulk when I do not need it.

Won't #3 and #4 counter anything you do for #1?

A co-worker of mine has the 8525 and signed up for unlimited wi-fi internet to Boingo Mobile. For $8 a month you get access to 60,000 hotspots. They seem to have great coverage in airports and hotels. Much faster than Cingular broadband and it'll save you the usage premium.
