When I try to book a *A award ticket for my GF(SIN-ICN-SFO-JFK on SQ and UA) using my Asiana Club miles, I discorvered that I will have to burn hefty 120,000 miles for a Y ticket and 180,000 miles for a C class.
This is way TOO expensive.:td:
I can do that with exactly 50% of the miles at MP.
I will definetely exit from Asiana Club soon, although I will keep flying OZ.

Yeah.. *A award is distance-based, so it can be really expensive. You should try to use it for OZ flights only, although it cannot cover SFO-JFK. If your GF won't stopover at SFO, she can fly SIN-ICN-JFK only using 85,000 miles for Y / 125,000 for C (and half for one way).
By the way, I'm not sure you can give the bonus ticket to your GF. I thought one can give to only family and relatives, but I don't know about *A award.

My GF wants to see her sister in SFo on the way to NYC, so
I had to consider *A option.
But, correct me if am wrong.
I thought Diamond members can give the reward ticket to anyone, can't they?

Oh, diamond members can give to anybody. Sorry to make you confuse.
If you're not gonna buy SFO-NYC separately, then *A is really the only option. And there seems no way to reduce total travel mile below 20,000miles. Sorry about this.
And a more informative title to this thread might have been useful too..................

Ensures our US brethren are left asking whether this thread contains any nuts.
