Advice please for a Virgin virgin. By searching, I have found that the flight is via Hong Kong. Any possibility of a stopover in Hong Kong, out or back? Can't find a mention in the site. (Probably looking in the wrong place). If anybody has done it, any advice would be appreciated, as to cost, etc.
Regards and thanks to all.

Hi,

Yes you can stopover in Hong Kong ( either way) but I do not know how much it would cost ( maybe a call to VS would be in order?)

Stopovers are usually free but do check if the fare conditions allow them (e.g. on certain promotional fares stopovers may not be allowed or may be restricted to inbound only). Any extra costs would be HKG departure tax (currently HK$120) payable for each stopover.

You can find out direct on the Virgin web-site.

If you try to book a flight between LHR and Sydney, it gives you an option to choose a stopver both inbound and outbound.

An economy return with stop-overs both ways will cost £678.70,
An economy return with one stop-over will cost £643.80
An economy return with no stop-over will cost £608.90

The level Virgin tier points you also vary; more with a stop-over.

I took this flight last september, are you going economy? If so, be ready for a long flight!

I took VS200/VS201 in November, Its a long trip for sure, I was sat in Economy. My tip....seats 42A-C or 42H-K. Thats where the cabin splits where the four seats in the middle should be theres just a cupboard so no one sat across the aisle from you!
