LOT Polish Voyager - SR - polnish governement agree on a 37,6% stake of SR in LOT

Swissair (SairGroup) just announced that they reached agreement with the polnish governement and with LOT to acquire a 37,6% stake in LOT (owned so far 100% by the polnish governement). Other competitiors for such a stake were LH and BA.

SR plans to integrate LOT as a full member of the Qualiflyer Group per jan-1-2000.

LOT had (in 98) a turnover of about 560 Mio US$, 4'150 employees, 28 aircrafts, 2,6Mio passengers and is flying to/from 50 destinations in 33 countries.

and they would happen to be a code share partner with aa...hmm....

The pilot union that represents LOT is already on the pilot advisory coalition for the oneword carriers. You decide. Also, FYI, the pilot unions representing JAL and Aerolinias Aregentina also have representatives on the oneworld piolt coalition board as well.

SR finalized that acquisition of 37,6% of LOT's shares per nov-18-99. An integration into the Qualiflyer program is expected per jan-1-2000.
