Flew Frontier for the first time last weekend and the airline turned a possibly bad experience into a good one.

Flying SEA-DEN-MCI , the flight out of SEA was delayed about 30 minutes because the plane hit a bird on the way in -- at least that's what we were told. In Denver I missed my connection barely, but Frontier was very helpful.

They gave me a $100 voucher for a future flight, a $7 food voucher and got me on the next flight, which left less than two hours later.

That seemed awfully nice, considering the reason for delay was out of their hands.

I've not had any significant bad experiences on F9 in years -- and while not a true road warrior, I've tended to fly them wherever I can. I lost my Ascent re-qual for this year while flying a lot between PDX and LA -- just didn't make sense to fly through DEN.

Waaah.

The last issue I can remember was when a CSR on the phone told me I could standby a day early for no charge although I was Ascent, not Summit. I had to smile a bunch both to actually get on the flight (and not pay the fee) - and probably wouldn't have if I hadn't already checked out of the hotel, returned the car etc.

Go Frontier!
