Hi, I'm new to this forum and apprecite all the info I've learned. I'm trying to use MR to fly to Paris from the west coast at the end of May. All the airlines associated w/ MR do not have availability for award seats- unless I want to use 100,000 pts, which I can't do. I do have on hold 2 tickets on AA via their advantage program which would use 60,000 pts per ticket.
I'm trying to figure out if I can redeem my MR pts for these AA tickets. I've seen the previous threads on this topic which have been helpful.
In looking at the mileage converter it doesn't make sense for me to transfer my pts to one of the airlines accepting MR then to Hilton Honors or Starwood then to AA b/c of the low conversion rate.
It also doesn't make sense for me to purchase these tickets from AM EX travel and use MR pts because it would use almost 300,000 pts.
Mexicana Frecuenta's office is closed today (Sunday) so I can't call them. Does anyone have any experience redeeming pts w/ Mexicana and using them for a partner airline? Is there anyway I can use my MR for the AA advantage program?
