American Express Membership Rewards - 2 for 1 AMEX Newbie Questions

I have heard a lot about this 2 for 1 AMEX promotion and was wondering if it would be feasible to use it for my plans.

What I want:

2 tickets YYZ-KUL vv on any airline. Delta seems to be the cheapest at USD$5458 return + tax

2. Do AMEX have their own fares, or would I simply say "I would like to buy the DL YYZ KUL J fare."

You are a Canadian resident and have a Canadian credit file
You are of age of majority or older in your province
You have a personal annual income of $60,000 or more
In the past 7 years you have not filed for bankruptcy and always make your minimum monthly payments on time

Damn...the Canadian IAP seems lot better than the American one...Why can't they offer comp upgrades with American plat cards? The SQ discount sounds very appealing since their business class is one of the best. If you can't get award tix, 30% could be a nice substitute...

and if they dont have to buy full fare.. dear god thats insane :eek:
