I thought you in the LatinPass board may help me.
I would like to know if there is an airport hotel at CCS?
If yes, is it inside the terminal? Before or after customs?
I probably will arrive from a international trip and I am not sure if I will make my connection with VH. So I am thinking of staying one night and taking a morning flight to be 100%.
I would appreciate your advice.
Thanks!

There is a Sheraton about ten minutes away on the beach. A bit run down but probably better than a 40 minute plus cab ride up the hill into Caracas.

Is that hotel new? I thought the only options two years ago were in town.

Europe Flyer,
This is what I remember from CCS a few years ago:
There were no hotels within security. Period. Hotel options in the airport area were limited and kind of pricey. If you leave the secured aera, just for the night, you will likely have to pay the entry tax (?? $30??) to leave the airport.
My buddy and I ended up sleeping in the terminal between our flights: arrived at 9pm, left at 7-8am. A few airport staff suggested we stay within the terminal given our time frame, available hotel options, and cost.
The airport was quiet, secure, and with little activity in the PM. There's an open air patio/balcony over some of the gates where you can sit and get fresh air. The seats had arn rests so you couldn't lay across them, but you could pull 2 rows together and lay there. Security within the secured area after hours was a non-issue-- we didn't need to lock our bags or anything.
One tip: there's a coffee shop that closes at like midnight. Get change before they close so you can use the soda machine in the middle of the night if you need to.
Good luck!
