American Express Membership Rewards - How soon is too soon to apply for second SPG Amex?

I just got an SPG Amex a couple weeks ago for personal use. A day or two after I got the card, I requested and received a $5k boost in the credit limit.

Now I'd like to get a Small Business SPG Amex, with two additional cards for my business partners.

How soon is too soon to apply? I don't want to hurt my credit rating, or get targeted for an AMEX 'audit' that I've read about. I'd also like a shot at getting a decent credit limit for the Small Business cards.

Any advice?

Unless you've been doing an App-O-Rama, just go and apply. They won't likely audit one personal and one business card.

You can apply for both at the same time and receive 10K for each.

Thanks, you guys were right, I just applied and it was fine. I still don't know what credit limit I got on the Small Business card, though.

Probably after 30 days.

How long does the 10K bonus take to post? I got a new SPG Amex and received my first statement, but the 10K bonus doesn't show up there.
And if I want to transfer the points to AA, how long does it usually take?

... new SPG Amex and received my first statement, but the 10K bonus doesn't show up there.

The points for the first month's spending and the bonus should appear in your Starwood account within a couple days after the closing date. If not, you should call American Express to ask for the SPG account number to which the points were credited. Most lilkely you will find that they created a new account for you. In my experience it is better to then ask Starwood to "merge" the two accounts, I asked Ameretican Express and they did it backwards  .
