Thrifty - Thrifty at MSP

Does anyone know if you have to go outside the terminal to get to the Thrifty shuttles at MSP?

Thrifty and Payless are 'outside' the terminal, and the other rental car companies are all inside the parking garage. I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to go to the 'transit center' and then take a shuttle to rent from Thrifty.

To get to all of the other companies in the garage, you have to take the same tram that goes to the "transit hub". The only difference with Thrifty is that after getting to the transit hub you then catch a bus that takes you to their facility on the other side of the airport, between Post Rd. and Runway 12R/30L, about a five minute drive, if that. There is space to wait inside and in heated bus stops for the shuttle to arrive.
