Australia, New Zealand & the South Pacific - Where to meetup at Sydney airport

I am traveling to SYD next month with Ms. HBAlameda, at the same time, but not on the same flight. (I am on a FF ticket, and I couldn't get a non-stop; her ticket cost real money, but she got a non-stop)

It'll be our first time (in the airport, heck, in the country) and I wonder if anyone can suggest a good meet-up point. We are both flying United, arriving within an hour of the other. Thanks!

I believe you'll be exiting from area C (at the right of the map) if you fly UA. I suggest you use the designated "meeting point" towards the center of the map. It is clearly labelled at the airport.

Which UA flight?

The earlier LAX one arrives when arrivals is a complete zoo with a ton of flights arriving as curfew lifts around then. 1000s of folks waiting to greet loved ones. The slightly later SFO one is not much better. Done both 50 times. ;)

And there are 2 exits to that area and folks are tough to find.

Me, I'd suggest she meets you out by where the cab race is. 50 yards from the waiting area. Well signposted.

A lot of seats there, lots of good vision, and you can sip a coffee and get some fresh air and not be jostled by 1000 families. :D

Don't forget the traditional meeting point for Americans: the McDonalds on the arrivals level :)

Personally I like to meet folks at the NSW tourist booth/Sydney hotel booking service area. There are usually seats available there, unlike at some of the other places to wait.

Oztamps guessed right on the flights -- mine arrives first thing.
A cup of coffee and fresh air sounds like the ticket -- the last thing I want to do after traveling halfway around the world is go directly to a Mickey-D's. Seriously, though, thanks for the suggestions. We may have a plan A, B and C. And McDonalds as super-backup plan Z.
