American Express Membership Rewards - Does plat concierge work for Spain?View Full Version : Does plat concierge work for Spain? erik123 Jan 20, 07, 5:26 pm E.g can they book restaurants, get you on the guest list in clubs, etc? Kagehitokiri Jan 21, 07, 7:27 pm there is plat/cent in spain. there are fine dining and FHR in spain. Cent in UK,IT,DE all list - Barcelona(CARPE DIEM LOUNGE CLUB) DE also lists - Barcelona(LA LUNA) - Madrid(FORTUNY, MOMA 56, SHABAY) - Marbella(LA NOTTE, OLIVIA VALERE) http://www.geocities.jp/ctwxg845/comparison.html calling plat/cent concierge in spain should also work well. writetorich Jan 22, 07, 12:39 am It’s a concise chart. I found that elite AIRLINE benefits really interesting. It seems to reinforce what we all know. The Sky team alliance brought to you by American Express, financially underwritten by American Express, and propped up when needed by Amex. Mexican Cents. Enjoy Aero México Status as Italian Cents. enjoy Alilalia. And Germany gets Flying Blue. It does seem that our friends the Brits get a good deal on their fee. 650 GBP?? That is not a lot more than UK Plat. I guess that explains why so many UK cents on this forum. Final observation, Is Cent brand new in Sweeden? that' s the only place my Plat card ever got the 'raised eyebreow" look. So i thought maybe it was the highest , 'by invite'AX card. In so far as the usa chart comparing the usa cent to usa cent, I never saw so many "sames" listed. This is not anything that the savvy Flyertalk here did not already know. I did learn from the International Chart. I know we have a long old buried thread -- probably with dated inaccurate info, Anyway to get an international Plat chart? What I would really like to see is a M.R. point to point redemption option from country to country I have been scouring various Amex individual country websites and learned a few interesting things. Canadian AX holders can transfer to ASIA MILES (CX) now at 1000 mr points to 700 Asia miles. This is brand new. will usa members get this option soon? I would love to transfer to ASIA MILES , even at a sub par 70% ratio Just as Will Rogers never met a horse that he did not like, it seems AX never met a country that does NOT allow for Continental Air point transfers. I guess that they do not call it none pass without reason. What counties are CORPORATE managed/ OWNED vs. being a Franchise?? for that matter are there any 'franchise' or 'licensee' country markets I think that this is of importance because what is offered by corporate in ONE country may possibly be done here. On the other hand , if its offered by a licensee , a separate company then there is little chance of USA member getting it. Kagehitokiri Jan 22, 07, 6:27 am thats a pretty well known site, ive posted it myself a number of times, whenever i quote from it. the creator of it is on FT, he frequently posts in AMEX and Lux Hotels. we all definitely owe him a big one :) ^ the usa plat/cent comparison IS missing a few things.. but its pretty darn good. if FTers start compiling international plat comparison, the creator will post it. i think it is highly likely that the reason USA cardholders do not have oneworld, is because oneworld airlines in the USA have some kind of exlusive/sole use agreements with their current partners. so NO, i think it is highly doubtful we will ever get oneworld, until those partnerships/contracts run out/change/etc.. you can get 60,000>25,000 right now to asiamiles by transferring to starwood first. CO isn't as bad as DL by any means. What counties are CORPORATE managed/ OWNED vs. being a Franchise?? for that matter are there any 'franchise' or 'licensee' country markets i have no idea, but im sure someone does. not sure why it matters though? i contributed nothing to FT here. i just answered this guys question for him. if you werent too busy attacking me personally elsewhere, youd notice i answer questions like this pretty regularly. writetorich Jan 22, 07, 4:39 pm CO isn't as bad as DL by any means. . have you redeemed a lot on both CO and Delta? If you have first hand comparative redemption, please share it. I have had really bad experience with both CO and DL , if you have some first hand tips , it would be great if you could share them. Also you might want to participate on the CO and DL boards as well. From my read, the elites of hose airlines are generally dissatisfied with redemption availability. Thanks. Jblackbelt Jan 22, 07, 5:10 pm the usa plat/cent comparison IS missing a few things.. but its pretty darn good. that was created by aviators99 and me, so if there is something missing please let me know Kagehitokiri Jan 22, 07, 5:47 pm Jblackbelt, imo the plat/cent and int cent comparison combined are more than enough information for someone to decide whether cent is worth it for them, thank you for all the work you put into that plat/cent comparison ^ Jblackbelt Jan 22, 07, 10:42 pm no problem, i enjoyed doing it, but if you have any suggestions id be more than willing to listen, id like the most accurate guide possible Kagehitokiri Jan 23, 07, 12:44 am "some cent hotel rates include confirmed upgrades" "international benefits may crossover by using concierge of destination country" would be all i can come up with.. regarding CO vs DL > CO has AF F, VS, and will be getting EK DL only has SQ, after losing a number of others Jblackbelt Jan 23, 07, 11:34 am im sry im not familiar on the airline abreviations im aware of CO and DL, af i believe is airfrance? what are the others. ritz is the only confirmed upgrade correct? also is the international concierge thing is interesting. does that apply to plat also? Kagehitokiri Jan 23, 07, 10:03 pm Virgin, Emirates, Singapore in that order pretty sure CENT can get confirmed upgrades at a number of different chains/properties think so, theres been some discussion of it here erik123 Jan 24, 07, 1:23 pm I would still be interested to hear from anyone who has used a plat concierge in Spain. |
