Very interesting. The prices do ramp up quickly. Yes, $1 for economy if booked in January, but midsize is $9.99. Although midsize does not ramp up in price, whereas in March the economy is $3/day. BTW, why is it $9.99 weekly if it's only $1/day? ;)

So if I fly to JAX, then drive the car to the west coast and return it at PIT a couple weeks later (It doesn't say if there's a maximum rental time. I'm assuming you could keep a couple weeks at the weekly rate.) do you think they would still be good with "unlimited" miles? :D

I've seen up to about 5k miles on a rental before....we didn't really care, but you might get asked just to verify that it was diven far---maintainence/oil change reasons and internal documentation, etc

That could make a pretty screaming deal for some who needs to do a x-ctry or something. Wow.
