Don't know how this fare rates for a pure MR but I think it's a good deal.

Leave morning #1, return morning #2.

~10K EQMs (if routed through ORD on the return) plus elite bonus of 10K for Plats and EXPs.

Also, VERY IMPORTANT for a run like this - free upgrades for EXPs.

I flew this route last month (on business) and cleared all the segments. On the return I also got to experience (again) the NBCS.

I used the targeted 10% coupon so the total came out to be $406.

Where did you see this? I checked on farecompare and only found $404 OR $451 all in.

$451-10%=$405, so you probably are finding the same routing/fare. $60 in taxes for a domestic journey seems a bit high ($389->$451), but not out of the realm of possibility.

I don't know where the OP found it, but I found it on a quaint little website called AA.com. :)

It's $389+ = $445 total

It's possible that HI may have some extra AGR check charge added to taxes so that may be why the taxes seem little higher.

btw, it seems like this fare is available from most FL airports with the exception of MIA.
