I learned something unpleasant today. I needed to make a Hampton Inn reservation. I did a quick search using my co-workers computer without entering my HHonors information. I saw a favorable rate. I proceeded to log into the HHonors website with my HHonors account information. Lo and behold, the lowest available rate was substantially higher. At first, I figured I enetered the wrong dates or something but after going back to my co-workers computer, I realized that I simply had not logged in.

I checked rates again on my own computer without the HHonors account info and was able to pull up the much lower rate. After securing the desired rate, I was able to enter my account info.

If Hilton thinks rewarding loyalty means higher rates, they can shove it.

I've noticed the same thing for quite some time. I always search both ways. I complained a year or two back and Hilton claimed that it wasn't true.

That's absolutely unacceptable. Seems like they are making you pay for your "amenities."

Sometimes our corporate rate, which can be very good at a lot of properties, is higher than the rates I get without using it.

Rate discounts are a far different issue than applying your loyalty number and getting a higher rate. :td: :td: :td: :td: :td:

I have had the same experience. When logged in I have on some occasions received higher rates than without being logged in.

Be sure however to verify that your HH profile has the same preferences on bed type, room type, etc compared to not being logged in. Sometimes this can explain the different rates.

The only time this happens is if your preferences trigger a higher rate. Just go to the top of the screen and click "view all rates". Problem solved.

Ahhh, you are correct. The folks at Hilton should change the way the data is displayed as this can cause some issues with customers (such as me!) that are not aware of the tiny little link to show all rates.

I've had that situation happen to me too. On the other hand, I've searched without being logged in, and have not been able to find rooms, but when I log in, it shows that rooms are available. I now just search both ways.
