I sent the following message to the Hilton Honors desk
Hello,
I need to speak with someone in corporate sales regarding and experience I have had with the Homewood Suites in Mobile AL.

When we had our course at this property the week of December 3rd I gave Cynthia Mitchell all dates for 2007 as well as followed up with an email which she confirmed.

While there were some issues incurred during this meeting due to poor communication Cynthia gave me her assurance that any bumps were in the past and she was certain they could meet our expectations.
I wanted to give this property another chance and maintain my loyalty to Hilton

During the week of December 3rd I sat down with Cynthia and booked several meetings (one every five weeks) with them and would have resulted in close to 40,000 in revenue for the up coming year.
I then followed this up with and email which she responded that we are all set and that to that she would contact me the 3rd or 4th of January. I received no such follow up so I sent Cynthia an email with the rooming list as well as well as left a voicemail for her regarding this list and asked about the event planner points that were never credited to my account

This past Friday January 12th at 5:30 pm I had a message left on my voicemail from Cynthia that she failed to hold my conf room for me. She also informed me that there was new management who turned their email off, so if I had sent any emails in the past two weeks she would not have received them.

I called the property back on Saturday and explained that in less than two weeks I had Neurosurgeon Radiation Oncologist as well as Medical physicist coming from as far away as Australia and no place to hold our course.
I was told that someone would be back with me in less than a day; however they never had a manager on duty on the weekends.

I did speak to Janice the GM for the property this morning and explained the situation to her. She assured me that no one had shaded the issue with her and she would call me “right Back"

It is now 9:30 PM and I have had no return call. I have been left with no other choice but to fly down to mobile to secure new facilities last minute at a cost of an 1100 air fare.

Stay away from this property if you are looking for any form of competence

That's a bad story.

Also. I guess that I didn't know that doctors came from Australia to Mobile, AL for conferences.

I stayed at the HGI (over the bridge, to the east (I think)) of town. It was very pleasant, friendly staff, nice rooms and lobby, etc. Of course, I didn't have any complex meetings to plan and I am not sure of their facilities for such. . .

If you had confirmed reservations for the conference rooms and they screwed up, you should be compensated.

Keep us updated with how Hilton handles this.

Great timing... I'm actually just about to book a week's stay in Mobile for business and I can cross Homewood off the possibility list.

Any experiences with the Hampton Inn & Suites Providence Park?

I guess I'll try Providence Park next. I don't ever want to return to Hampton Inn Mobile-I-10/Bellingrath Gardens

Wanted to update everyone.
I went to Mobile yesterday. I believe I was on the ground a total of 2 Hours and 15 minutes.

The new Hampton Inn and Suites at Providence Park is most likely the Nicest Hampton Property I have been in.
The suites are very upscale and the staff was wonderful.

Would say this is the best place if you have to head to mobile. It is basically on the Hospital campus if you have business there and is across from Bonefish Grill and TGIFridays.

They have two 15 person board rooms and an additional room that can accomodate up to 35 people.

They had already thought of everything I would need prior to my arrival , knowing what my issues had been with the homewood.
