Hilton HHonors - Will free nights count as stays

I'm sure this question has been asked before, but with all the changes going on, I lost overview of the different rules: I've still a couple of certificates from the 3/5/7stays promo and need to use them as they expire end of February. As I'm also somewhat short on stays for requalification they would be ideal for a mattress run - but I need the stays to count. I'm sure there is a lot of experience out there....

Not sure about them counting as stays, but award nights count as nights toward status.

My free stays from promos have always counted as stays.

Free stays count as stays toward status. I often have to contact Hilton to get them to post, which the agent is happy to do.

Did a stay at Conrad Chicago weekend before Xmas using Q3FN certs.
Posted quickly with both night and stay credits.

We stayed at the Renaissance Totonto right after Thanksgiving, using the free night certs from the Marriott Visa card. My wife and I each had one.

We both got night credit for the award stays.

My experience has also been that the Q3FN stays count. Just as a warning, however, the OP should know that the Q3FN certs I've been given specifically state that you don't get stay credit on promos (unlike regular award stays that are officially supposed to count.) So if HH were to start enforcing the rules on the cert ...

need to use 1 last yr and got the credit, my remaining 5 will not be used for more then 1 night at any given Hotel = 5 stays
