I am devoted to Marriott and AAdvantage, but I don't care for citi and there AA citicard. Can I use my Amex Plat and transfer the points to Starwoods (1:1) then transfer those points to AA (1:1.25). Has anyone ever done this before????

3:1 then 1:1.25
so 60,000>20,000>25,000
amex>spg>aa
OTOH diners club can transfer to both AA and marriott, as well as others.
personally >
amex for NH, AF, E0, Bombardier Jet, and maybe SQ coming soon
starwood for hotel and any other air
merrill for Ritz Carlton and Marquis Jet

No. The transfer rate from American Express Membership Rewards to Starwood is 1000:333, meaning that you will lose 2/3 points in the transfer. You can, of course, use the Starwood Preferred Guest credit card issued by American Express to earn Starpoints directly, and these can then be transferred to AA 20000:25000.

Get Amex Starwood card. It allows transfers to AA with 25% bonus - 20,000 Starwood points =25,000 AA miles. It is free first year and then $30 per year.
