I THOUGHT that I read somewhere that my AMX GOLD REWARDS card earned double MR's for purchases at the POST OFFICE and GAS, etc. Does anyone know where I can get a list of places that I earn extra MR's at?
Or does anyone know if this is true? Thanks

See discussion from August 2006 when American Express announced the end of Double Points from Everyday Spending...

This feature is still offered by the Delta Skymiles and Hilton HHonors credit cards, but not by any card that earns Membership Rewards, although the effective date of the phaseout may depend on your account anniversary date.

Some Cardmembers (like myself) kept the Everyday Spend Bonus until the next anniversary date. Mine is in May 2007. But for most people, it's long gone.

How do you know if you still get the double points or not?

It would appear on your statement in the Membership Rewards section.

It would appear on your statement in the Membership Rewards section.Sorry for the dumb question but you're talking about the credit card statement you get in the mail?
How do you know if you still get the double points or not?
1. Go to http://membershiprewards.com
2. LOGIN
3. Click "Points Summary"
4. Scroll down to see "Earned Points within the last 30 days" and look for "Everyday Spend Bonus" category. If a number is shown you have received some Double Points for Everyday Spending. If the category does not appear, try step 5 but your account has probably stopped earning.
5. Click "See Earned Point Summary" for more details.

It's for this very reason that I've switched to my Hilton Amex for this kind of spending--but I wonder, will the "everyday spend" bonus soon dry up for Hilton and Delta cards as well?
