Marriott Rewards (including Ritz-Carlton) - Marriott Orlando Airport - Report

I've stayed here before, nice hotel. The lobby is being remodeled, so access to the health club is blocked off. The hotel offered two alternates: walk next door to the Sheraton Suites or after 7:20 am, they'll shuttle you to a 24 hour gym. Ok, but I needed to hit the gym earlier than that & the Sheraton's gym was jammin'.

As close as it is to MCO A/P, I never heard any A/C noise nor any doors slamming...nothing. Very peaceful.

There's a Hooters a short walk about 1/4 around the pond that sits in front of the hotel. I think Hooters ought to partner w/ Marriott...but that's just me. Free parking, great bed, and once renovation is finished, it'll be perfect, again.

I'm glad to hear this hotel is still doing well. I stayed there a number of years ago and thought it was great. There was a youth convention there, when I stayed, and we didn't hear any noise, which was a real plus.

stayed there last night on an award stay as a lowly silver and was suprised to be put on the executive floor with access to the lounge. Was one of the best I have been in in this country. Had very good coconut shrimp, assortment of cheeses,etc. After 7:30 had mini cheesecakes and other light deserts. Wine was provided and had an honor bar with nice choice of hard stuff.

any idea on when the renovation will be finished....I have a reservation there for next week, and I really don't want to use the Sheraton's fitness center or take a shuttle anywhere

just an update, in case anyone is in Orlando soon...

The fitness center was NOT open yet, but it looks like it should open in the next week or so....they were sanding the drywall this morning when I left... Anyway....I did not end up having time to work out...

The new room product was nice, I got a concierge level upgrade, which is nice since I travel on per diem. The rooms have the Plasma TV's...and they look like the new typical Marriott room with bright red and yellow colors....so much better than the old pink and green that most Florida hotels have....as Mike said the room was quiet

The lobby looks great....maybe a week from completion. It does not really look like any other Marriott lobby I have seen...it is very....japanese'ish :confused:


I visited Hooters.....I love those wings :D

I heard some thunder this morning...looks like Orlando was spared the rough weather...which hit near Daytona from what I guess...

well...off to do laundry....:(

I am already missing the 40 extra degrees I was enjoying in Orlando the last few days..
