To BD or not to BD, that is the question? Whether 'tis nobler in the air to suffer the slings and arrows of Europe Select, or to revolt against this sea of degrading service and take *G?

A BD comp offer in the post would have me re-evaluating loyalty at a rate of knots, I can tell you.

I would stick up for KLM fervently up until about 6 months ago, possibly even more recently, if you look through my past posts.

But now... Well, 150k miles to burn - ah, that would make a lovely Skyteam RTW.

I think not (at least at the moment). I am looking at switching my hub of choice from AMS to LHR (fly mainly from MME). My request for a comp (in writing) from BD based on KLM PE (earned!) resulted in a long response about devaluing the benefits for existing members etc. Hardly going for new customers big style.

Also tried for a BD comp. and was told eh oh.

What has been suggested on the BD thread is to go for a UA comp (apparently far easier), get the *G benefits from it, and use your DC cards to build up *G on BD, dumping the UA account at the end of it.

when I spoke to BMI they were pretty receptive actually, but you need to be sure you can fly on their planes and they dont have the network for me. I think they are ready to fight to get customers on board.

UA were very fast in offering a comp.
