Hilton HHonors - Will points awarded for stays at 2 different properties at the same time?
I will be traveling in a few weeks and usually put my name on my wifes foli and use my HHonors number to increase my stays and points. Next month my wife will be in 1 city using my name (with her name), and at the same time I will be in another city using my name and number to earn points and stays. Will I get points and/or stay credit for both? or should 1 of us stay at another hotel brand?

BamaVol Jr doesn't have a HH account and when he travelled as a teenager, I would book rooms for him and let him use my credit card. I always got credit, even on award stays. The one time we were both travelling simultaneously on opposite sides of the country, I only got credit for one stay. Fortunately it was for my ES and not his HI. I did not challenge it. Might be coincidence, might not.

Getting credit for both is going to be a bit trickey and might depend on your power of pursuasion:)
First off only one stay will post on Hilton.com automatically you will have to call in to HH to get the other to post, if you have a Mutual account no problem it will be done but since you didnt mention it I suspect not.
Otherwise I would call in and tell them that you checked in first at the property with the earlier checkin time and then joined you wife later (due some sort of emergency;) ) at the other hotel If the two cities are relatively close they might buy the story if they are say Miami and LA and you both checkin within say the same hour it might be a tough sell also the stays overlap in days
Personally it might be worth a try if you need the stays to qualify.

That might very well be a function of the fact that two HH stays never seem able to post automatically on the same date its happen every time my wife and I ( we have a mutual account) stay in different properties but by contacting the DD will get them posted promptly.

thanks, all good info..sounds chancey at best. I guess i will stay at another brand during the overlap.
Can YOUR HHonors number be added to any rez for anyone and you get stay and points credit OR do you need to add your name to the rez to get credit? Doe sit mater who pays as long as your name and HH number are on the stay?

The intention is that you get points for your stays. If you try to game the system and get points for other people's stays, it may work. Or your friend may wind up paying the rack rate as you are not there to check in and your friend doesn't have an id with your name on it with a picture that matches your friend's face. Not all hotels ask for id and most don't really care as long as you provide a valid cc, but it seems to me eventually you will get burned.
If you make a res in your name and account and you stay and have someone else stay too and they pay, you should get credit, although there have been posts here where HHonors split the points.

I booked a reservation for my neice and I at an ES in September under my name with my credit card number. I called the hotel and spoke to a nice front desk clerk and gave her my neice's name she informed me that she would give my neice a key if she arrives at the hotel before me. When I arrived some 4 hours later, I asked if my neice had given them a credit card upon check-in as we were splitting the bill. The front desk clerk (same one I had spoken to earlier) told me that the only credit card she had on file was mine. When I asked her if I could have them split the bill by using 2 credit cards, the front desk clerk informed me that it would not be a problem. The front desk manager over-heard our conversation and came out of the back room like a bat out of Hell and said " you will not get any Hilton Honor Points for your stay" I explained that we just wanted to split the stay between 2 credit cards (which I had done on numerous times with my sister) but I was told that both credit cards had to be in my name. I kept the entire bill on my credit card the entire stay. I would have understood if I had not checked in the hotel at all but in this case, they asked for and received my drivers license when I checked in.
My one experience with this situation is that they will not. My FIL had been in an accident and I got us a room at a HI near the hospital on a Friday. On Monday I left my wife alone at the HI and drove to a conference in another city and stayed at a HGI. When the HGI stay did not post I called HH and was told no credit for simultaneous stays.

I did it once and it worked for me with one hotel in Frankfurt and one in Berlin. I actually had rooms and used rooms in both hotels but that was too difficult to explain. The agent found her own explanation "I understand Sir, this is due to some time difference, isn't it". I did not explain to her that all of Germany in on one time zone and both cities are only about 300 miles away from each other but kept my mouth shut and the points posted....

I would call again...don't know about stay credit, but I definately got points for staying in two hotels on the same night - and I had two seperate rooms due to being in one for about 9 nights but finding myself a few hours away and not getting done with work until 1am and crashed at a hampton nearby.

Last fall I arrived and checked into HGI on Long Island, had dinner and was going to turn in early before my morning meeting near there.
Around 8:30pm I get a call from the boss -- LI appointment is cancelled but I can fly back up to Boston and meet with some hot prospect there? There's a flight at 10:40pm out of JFK.
So, I grab my stuff, check out and jump in the rent-a-car. By the time I'm over at JFK it's almost 10pm and I might have made it but the train stopped running and the bus took forever going around terminals and by the time we got to mine (AA) it was WAY too late to get to the gate.
So I start calling around and the ONLY hotel around JFK that has a room that night was a Doubletree. I get their last (smoking! :( ) room and catch an early AM flight to Boston.
Anyway, even though I spent $$$ for stays at both nights, and spent about four hours in one and five hours in the other, I only got points for one of them. It didn't seem worth arguing about it at the time... maybe I should have...

I've been booked at two Hilton-branded hotels in different cities for much of the same time and so far I've had no issue.
For example, checked in for a stay at the Conrad Brussels from Dec. 12 until Dec. 17th and then checked into the Hilton Stockholm Slussen for a stay between Dec. 13th until Dec. 20th. This has credited to a given HHonors account without issue.
In any event, may well be a case of YMMV.
Two HHonors accounts, merged later has worked fine too.

Does anyone have any recent experience with this? I'm going to be working in DC for a couple of months, likely staying at a Hilton. If I go to NYC for a weekend while not checking out of the hotel in DC, will I get credit for both stays?
