We will fly from CHC to SYD on Apr 8, on NZ 783 arriving SYD at 17:30. We hope to fly to BNE on the same day.

Is it enough time for us to take the 20:00 Virgin Blue flight to BNE? or we need a later flight?

Based on my experience that would be more than enough time. I'm sure somebody here will be able to quote the official connection times though.

then get from T1 to T2.

I am thinking out loud here:

Since we arrive from CHC, that means immigration and custom clearance. I just realize NZ only allows 15lb carry-on luggage - I dont think we can get it below 20lb - so that means checked luggage, adding more time.

Taxi from T1 to T2, if there is no que for Taxi... 10-15min?

That would be almost 2 hours before we check-in at Virgin Blue counter.

I need to find out Virgin Blue policy as when it will close the check-in before departure time - that might mean to add another 30min allowance.

And that is to assume NZ 783 would not delay but Flight Stat said its avg delay is 23 min with 78% on-time record. Yike.
