Flying Blue (Air France & KLM) - Does Flying Blue do status match?

I am a US based traveller but will start doing a lot of international travel soon. I have a KLM frequent flyer number with an address in Europe. I am wondering if I can get a status match on flying blue from my delta GM status?

I am afraid not : FB does not match status.

It never hurts to try but your chances are almost nil.
Especially since your status is on another SkyTeam airline and it's only Gold.
If it were Platinum and on a different alliance, maybe you could make a stronger case, but as it is, you get many but not all of the perks.
