using my AMEX Starwood card for purchases? For example, with Continental OnePass, I have my ShopRite frequent buyer card linked to it for points, etc. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to FlyerTalk, ChevygaL4! :)

There are a few ways (but only a few) that I didn't know about being listed on the SPG.com website.

For the most part, folks only get any significant amount of Starpoints by hotel stays or SPG credit card spending.

I think, but am not certain, that you can still get 10,000 bonus points by getting a Starwood Amex business card, on top of your personal one. This used to be the policy and may still be the case. I'm just not certain because Starwood/Amex cracked down last year and stopped allowing people to get bonuses by getting multiple cards (except I think for those who get both personal and business cards).

Sometimes Starwood Amex gives a bonus if you get use your own card number to get a second card for a significant other or family member. Not sure how to track down further info on that. Maybe by calling the phone number on your card.

Finally, someone who resides at the same address can transfer their miles into your account.

I know all of this is in the realm of using your Amex card whereas you probably were seeking other options, but this does reach beyond simply using your card for purchases.

Has anyone had any experience doing this?

Yes, I've done this a few times with my spouse, just call the customer service line and they do it manually, the points transfer instantly.

I recently got the AmEx card and then added my husband and I received 10,000 points and an additional 2,500 points for my husband
