View Full Version : O - "wet seats"?

I'm heading to Vegas later this month, and was trying to decide if I wanted to see a show or not. Never seen any of the Cirque shows, and thought I'd give O a try.

Took a look at the seat booking site to see what was available, and had a great seat (something like row B of orchestra) pop up--but it was labeled "WET SEAT". I know O is a water-based show, but I didn't think I was going to see Shamu at Sea World! Does it really splash into the audience? How wet is wet? And how far up is considered in the wet zone?

O is incredible -- I would not miss it.

I have seen the show several times and sat various places throughout the theater. Almost all of the seats are excellent (although I've never sat in the Balcony). The front of Section 203 is probably ideal. Some of the action takes place overhead, so you might have to crane your neck in the front row for brief parts of the show; if you're farther back you'll also be able to take in more of the theater. You won't be disappointed if you're in Row B -- you'll get a great up-close view of some of the action, but the stage is really huge (wide, tall, and effectively expanding out into the audience), and there's a lot to take in.

They do list the first several rows as "wet seats" but I've never seen people get wet there. (Well, there are two clowns who wander throughout the theater... But that's all I'll say.) Maybe a few drops of water here and there in the front rows, but I wouldn't let that scare you away. Those seats are not supposed to get wet in a normal show. And if you're in Row B, that definitely shouldn't be a problem.

So, I really recommend that you see the show! B row is fine, but I think somewhere near the front of Section 203 would be ideal, especially if this is the first time you're seeing the show. If you look at the seating map, you'll see a little square of non-seats right at the front/center of Section 203. That's the sound booth. If you get a seat right by that, you'll have the best seat in the house -- in terms of sight and sound.

While many shows claim "wet seats," the O show is very classy and you will hardly get wet, if at all, in those seats. Enjoy the show.

Saw "O" for the 2nd time on Dec 31, 2006. Had a "wet seat" -- 2nd row. I think 2 drops of water hit my knee.

Don't worry about getting wet during O... a few drops here and there is the most you'll get. It's not like seeing Shamu or Dolly at Sea World.

BTW, O is my favorite CDS show... great show.

I've sat front row center (I was even on stage with a clown)... nothing to worry about.

Thanks for all the followup info. Turns out, between Thursday and today (when I booked the ticket), the row B seat was gone, so the "moist seat" warning was a non-issue. However, I was able to get first row of the upper orchestra, section 203, as scott1212 had recommended above, so I went ahead with that.

Thanks again!

I am looking at getting seats in Sec 203 Row O(1st row) seats 1-2. They state Limited View, I read somewhere that the handrail is your way.
Has anyone sat in these seats.
Is it really Limited View, is it worth it, or should I book Balcony on the right hand side.
Any help would be great.
Thanks

I think the whole "wet seat" thing is more like a precautionary disclaimery thing. You wont get wet. Have fun.

The seats are front row in section 203, not the orchestra.
They are listed as "Limited View".
I was hoping someone has sat in these seats and can let me know if this is a huge issue or not.

Thanks

Usually a pole is what limiting the view. While not very obtrusive, once the show starts you kind of forget that it is there.

That's cool...I always thought the audience "volunteers" were ringers for Cirque...did you get anything for your 'voluntary' participation?

When I saw "O", I had the young guy (character) whose fantasy the show is built around sitting behind me when we arrived to take our seats...there was just something about him that made us think he was going to be involved in the show.

I was in Row 1, Center seat last year and I got quite wet. But that had to do with the fact that the cast of ZooManity was sitting all around us and most of them had been in the cast of O and knew the current cast and had visited with them prior to the show. I didn't mind getting wet, the warm water was refreshing, as were the male divers!

Limited view seats were fine for us - we were front/centre row of the section halfway back and the only thing in the way was the railing from the stairs (barely affecting the view).

If you have no better options, there is not much lost with these seats - though the front sections are closer and slightly better, IMO. Enjoy! ^

We had "wet seats" and I was kinda worried we might indeed get soaked, but we got them anyway. I never really thought about it during the show, and afterwards I realized we didn't get a drop of water on us. I think a few people got a drop or two, but it's not Splash Mountain or anything.
