Will this count as a stay? i'm going to use points for 2 nights and for the 3rd, i'm paying full rate. Will this generate as a stay for me?

I've never had an opportunity to try this (yet), but I've always wondered about the reverse. That is, if I booked three separate reservations for consecutive nights, and made the first night a paid stay, the second night an award stay, and the third night a paid stay, would this count as two stays? There are two separate paid stays on non-consecutive nights, so would that be two stays, or would the award stay in between make it just a single stay?

The way I've read what William usually says about consecutive nights and stay credits, I think the plan above might still only count as a single stay, not two. But if anyone knows for sure (William?), well, like I said, I've always wondered.

Single stay...provided the hotel posts it the way they are supposed to. YMMV, as usual.
