Hi,

Any ideas how I can get 2,033 GE miles quickly? Am already pooling miles with mrs swiss so they won't let us borrow against future travel. As such, I need these points, but don't want to spend too much cash getting them, as that defeats the whole object.

Hilton says it takes 60 days to get the miles to credit - seems like a long time....

How long does it take Marriott to post - any ideas?

Cheers

All hotel miles take an age to post.

What about trying one of the cheapy FD UK-EU fares for an MR?

Good idea, but those FD cheapies have a 2 night min stay attached to them, so don't really do the business for a MR...

I checked with FD and they assured me you can draw down miles from flights already booked.

That's all well and good, but I cancel a lot of my flights, so what happens if you book an award like this, and cancel you're future flights?

You could always try their insurance policies, not sure how quick they'll post though.

Thanks guys.....

Must admit, i've been going round in circles a bit here, but what i've found (for GE anyway)

1) The will bend the rules
2) You can pool miles
3) You can draw miles against future flights
4) You can't (as a GE) do 2&3 together

What I don't know (and thanks Nick) is if I can pool miles out of a 3rd account. I suspect IF I can, I need to have enough to take Mrs Swiss' points up to 40,000 rather than our combined total up to 80,000. However, if I can pool from a 3rd account, I have a friend I can tap for these http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif Will ask FD tomorrow.

Anyway, have started off a two horse race between HHonors & Starwood to see what I can get to post first and in the meantime I'll see what else gives.

Thanks again,

Swiss

They do the business in case you find a KL cheapy at your destination to return the same day and do the mileage run again two days later. KL definitely allows back-to-back ticketing (http://www.flyertalk.com/pasttalk/ftpasttalk_form/Forum28/HTML/000393.html)!
