Why are all the hotels so overpriced in San Juan? Anyone have any ideas on a nice place for less the $250.00 a night?

When are you going? I have found the Embassy Suites in San Juan in March last year and January this year for around $220/night.

When I fly into PR on short party or shopping trip I enjoy staying at the Coral Princess Inn in Condado. Very attractive pricing for a lovely intimate inn.

All the big chain hotels are through the roof, until summer. They have 6 cruise ships a dya pulling in. All hotels are sold out with people getting on or off. You can get some of the local hotels on old san juan for 100 bucks or so that are not to bad, but I have watched my rates at the Embassey suites airport and Sheraton old san juan go up all moth. I have had issues getting rooms all month and go their every week since august.
