Hi, :)
I'm Indonesian and will travel to Auckland via Sydney. I'm holding ticket to Sydney by Malaysia Airlines and plan to buy ticket (Sydney - Auckland - Sydney) on the same day in Sydney. My question is do I need Australia visa? If yes, is it possible to arrange transit visa? And how much it costs?
Thanx. :)

The transit rules are at http://www.immi.gov.au/managing-australias-borders/border-security/transit-visa-req.htm
Basically Indonesian citizens are exempt from needing a transit visa if tney meet the conditions described on that page (things like less than 8 hour transit in Australia, and not leaving the transit area of the airport). You might not be able to meet that requirement if you don't have your second ticket ahead of time and with an issued boarding pass (so it depends on the airline and type of ticket).

Welcome to Flyer Talk delp1er0 :)
I'd imagine Australia would require the onward ticket purchased before they'll let you onto the a/c coming to Australia.
I'd recommend getting an onwards ticket before hand.

How are you intending to buy a ticket in Sydney? There are no ticket counters for you to do so inside the secured area. MH will also not let you board unless you show that you are continuing onto AKL with a ticket or if you hold a visa.
But - MH also flies to Auckland. So why fly to Sydney is the question.
