Cool, Hertz has the Aura XRs too now! I had the base XE when they first started coming into the fleets, but I heard the 3.6L in the XR is a much nicer drive... ^

Those cars aren't for my business rentals, which are usually boring, though lately have been nice. I believe, due to my repeat business to the same location, they have been giving me free upgrades to G35s, Volvo S80s, Cadillac DTS, or 300c rather consistently every week for the last year or so. Occasionally, I'll pay for an upgrade to an FX35 or an M35.

The Mazda 6 was from a weekend in SFO when the new design first came out. This particular one was very nice almost fully loaded with Bose stereo, leather seats, etc. Back then, when I first started with Hertz, I was easily pleased.

Thanks for the link! I guess those cars are a one-off thing. None of the locations out here (including Hertz) have anything that even resembles a proper roadster.

Unlimited miles in Orlando. That particular rental was a three day rental with a paid upgrade from an AAA F rate (28% discount) with a free day PC code. The upgrade was $75 / day, but I got 28% off of that price, plus the free day code. With taxes and fees it came to $75 / day. When paying for upgrades, the new car retains the mileage limits of the original reservation.

On that trip, we drove it around WDW and to Busch Gardens in Tampa. I really liked the car, it was the highlight of the trip for me. I could tell it had some strange quality problems though. Panel gaps were big and unven.

On our way back to Hertz, I accidentally locked the proximity key in the trunk. Three hours later, with the two of us standing outside in a thunderstorm soaked, Onstar and Hertz was able to unlock the car remotely.

LOL...reminds me about Mike's post in the Trip Report forum. He lost the keys to his Jag rental and the mechanic had to use some smashing techniques to get access to the interior.

Well, I hope you like pictures of Camry's, Tauri (pl.) and the odd Highlander now and again, because that's about all you are going to get out of me. :D
