Budget Travel - cheapest ticket?

HELP ,
anyone know of the cheapest way back to tahiti from mexico city?
cannot fly throught the u.s.a ( no visa).
i have heard of lan chile mexico city-santiago-easter island -papeete .
can someone help me with cheapest prices or alternatives.

Hi Moana1 - welcome to Flyertalk.

In general, that is probably a very expensive route, especially when you limit the connection options in LAX. A few suggestions:

- connect in YVR rather than LAX (assuming you have, or can get, a Canadian visa)
- If I remember correctly, the only carriers flying direct between So Am and So Pac are LA on the SCL-IPC route you mention, the SCL-AKL route, and the AR flight from EZE to AKL

(I realize that I've used a lot of abbreviations in my post - easier than writing out the city names; if you're not familiar with airport codes, look under the help dropdown menu at the top).
