JetBlue TrueBlue - Two flights - 24 points. Is it always this easy?

So I'm commuting now BUF-BOS. Since it was fairly short notice, I decided to try JetBlue instead of my normally-preferred USAir.

These are short flights. The way I read it was I'd get 2 points for the flight. It seems what they really mean is 2 points for each leg, plus 2 points for OLCI, plus 2 points for online booking, etc. They give you points for everything except just physically showing up. :)

I realize there's a promotion going on, but if this is the general trend, I could easily wind up with a couple of hundred points by the end of the year.

Am I being spoiled by jumping in in the middle of a promo or what?

BTW, the flights themselves are fine -- IFE is great, seat pitch is acceptable, and the E190s work just fine.

And contrary to what others have posted here, the BOS and BUF personnel/checkin system all seem to be up and running smoothly.

The online check-in bonus points is a current promotion, good until Jan 4th. The other 4 points, however, for short legs, are awarded year-round (technically, I think the online booking bonus is a promotion, but it's been valid for so long now, that it's pretty much considered standard). The only other thing you have to be aware of is the fact that the points expire one year after they are earned. As a commuter, this probably won't effect you, as you'll reach the 100 point barrier in much less time, but it's something that the lesuire passenger has to worry about. And once you get that award, you can use it on 2 seperate one way tickets anywhere jetBlue flies! It also seems like there's more availibility on jetBlue than with other FF programs.

Also, if you like racking up the points, there's also an Amex branded jetBlue cards that gets you 1 point for every $200 spent, with double dollars for things like restaurants, movies, sports tickets, etc... The card also waives the expiration date on your points, so they never expire, which is an added bonus.

Glad you liked the jetBlue experience! I'm jealous of your BUF-BOS direct flights - I'm in ROC, and go to Boston every so often, and I'm stuck with US (although FL was a nice addition to the route, they're cancelling it after only ~5 months :()

US made a mistake and has now reinstated their BOSROC service.
