US Airways Dividend Miles - Are Companion Cert's upgradeable to 1st?

If I buy a full fare econ. ticket and use a companion cert, are BOTH seats eligible to be immediately upgraded to 1st, or is the companion treated as second-class citizen upgrade-wise?

Mine was in mid-Nov. Comp was upgraded at 7 day out w/ me.

I missed the full fare thing... That, I do not know... My ticket was a cheapie fare.. not full fare.

As far as the other reply that said GoEnvoy - that doesnt apply for domestic flights. You could try a GoFirst or a mileage upgrade, but you need to call to see if the ticket will apply to that.

On the Juniper Bank companion cert, I believe it says right on it that it is not upgradable unless the new certs have changed. I'm guessing that you could pay for a GoEnvoy upgrade since even award tickets are eligible for that.

If you are talking about a BOA Visa or Juniper MC companion cert, the companion ticket books into H. H bucket seats are eligible for upgrade at your window.

So, the answer to your question is, "it depends".

1) If you buy the tickets before your upgrade window, the answer is no, the companion ticket can not be immediately upgraded.

2) If you buy your tix within the window and upgrade seats from discounted coach are available, the answer is yes, the companion ticket can be immediately upgraded.

Many Thanks - I'll be using a BOA cert, and am only GP, flying to CUN around spring-break time. Hopefully this means my H ticket will only be competing w/ college kids for a bump, but I guess we'll just have to see!

What cert do you have that is good for Mexico?

The answer is yes, I have done it in the last month with the BOA certificate no problem.
