hi frens,

thanks for your great help, I do have a few other queries, hope it isnt too taxing, thanks again!!

1) I have been reading up on airline flights, and some people mentioned OLCI, can I do that for my flight? and any tips on choosing a good seat.
2) what is channel 9? how do I switch to that channel? can I really hear what the aircrew is saying?
3) I m fairly new to air flights, what in general can i look forward to for this flights, and any tips to make my journey on the airplane more fun / interesting,
4) and in case I wish to write a TR of my flight (if my english confidence is good, I will try) do I have to ask permission frome FA before snapping any pics inside the plane?
5) I understd inside a plane can be dehydrating for a person, so can I bring my own bottle of water? is it allowed?

PS: and this is not relevant to this journey, but does anyone know how does a airplane gets switched on, ie is it like a car or motorbike where a person uses a key? does the captain have a key to the plane?

thanks and peace all :)

sorry for my irrelevant final question, but I always wanted to know it. :)

Depends, on some flights you can and on some flights (where Airline needs
to verify your passport and Visa) you cant.

On most of the United flights (not on CRJs or ERJs) you can turn your audio
programming to channel 9 to listen to the ATC and the cockpit conversations.
Its not always available though.

What are the best flights and seats to New Zealand?
I will be travelling from France or Germany.

Thanks

Best flights for what?

Answer depends on what importance you place on fare, time spent en route, cabin class, whether IFE and avod is important, power supply, frequency of flights, stopover options, etc.
