I would like to know how a case like the following is handelt.

Letīs say one buys a *aliance award on BD with miles and cash
routing
HEL(SK)-FRA(LH)-MUC(TG)-BKK(TG)-KTM in first class
that costs 20k miles +140 GBP in cash+ the taxes airportfees and fuel.
Now I know first the money always goes to the issuing carrier.
But what happens then.
Do the other airlines here SK,LH,TG get any monney
how does this work, how is this calculated ? per segment, per mile flown ?
what about the taxes and fees ? do they go direct to the airport, or also to the departing operating carrier ? And he has to pay to the airport.
I know that there is a institution called clearinghouse in London, but I have no idea how it works.

This doesn't seem to be LH specific but rather all FFPs, so moving to Miles Buzz.

good question, I think... I guess it's even more relevant in case there is any problem with your trip and you need to find out who to write to about any refunds, etc.

I may be wrong on this but I think the first carrier is the one who takes the ball and they OWN the trip. Or is it the last one?? gawd I dunno. I think airlines all grab from available travel inventory and so if your airline takes a bunch of flights doing THIS itinerary and mine takes a bunch doing THAT one, then that's who owns what regardless of who was flown throughout.

Again, I have no idea but now you got me wondering it as well! Now maybe others will give their 2 cents on the subject...
