Hi,
I am currently in BKK and been trying to call SQ in SIN for all through the day. I have been dialing 65-2238888 because I need to change my booking from SIN-BOM.
However, since the morning I am getting the message to please call later as the agents are all busy. I have even sent an email and got no response.
I dont know what to do at this point....I never expected such a blackout of communication from SQ, especially in their hub city.
Any suggestions on numbers to call...?
Thanks,
JR

SQ like other airlines are grappling to cut operating costs (the most convenient is telephone sales) With average load factors of 95% out of Singapore, you can imagine the number of inbound calls to SQ reservations. Best bet is that there are 20 agents at anyone time to handle the call load!!!!
Would you wait patiently for your turn and get connected to a Singapore trained agent or speak to an offshore agent based somewhere in Philippines , China or India? 1 Singapore Agent = 8 Foreign Agents.
Only trouble is - the person on the other line cannot understand you.
Best bet is to go the SQ airport offices to change your flight. (Unless you are PPS and can avail of the Premium Lounge at Orchard Paragon - Sip COKE while you flight gets changed)

The last time I was at the PPS Lounge at Orchard Paragon, there was only Coffee, Tea and Evian (no more Coke or other soft drinks). :td:

For the last month or so, I have also been calling SQ (in SIN) and most of the calls were put on hold with some did not get thru. This must be due to the holiday season.
I noticed that calls in the morning between 8am and 10am and evening between 5pm and 7pm will either have to wait for a long time or not gettting the calls thru.
The best bet is to try outside of these hours especially when you are calling from overseas and each call attempt and put on hold can be quite costly.
Good Luck.
Same experience here..I was in UK..tried calling SIA Singapore, cant get thru.
Called SIA London - same problem. The only solution is wait for my travel agent to start work the next day.
It really sucks !!

Do you always fly in C or do you do this even if you're in Y?

I just had excellent service from the Melbourne office...
I called to change the return date on a flexi-saver. I only waited 30 seconds and the change was made immediately. Furthermore, she "should have" charged me a fee for extending the travel period past 1 month but did not.

Ditto. Changed 3 flight segments through the phone (131011) today and all done within 10mins. Super efficient ^

Majority of my flights are in Y, but they don't reject my call, maybe the Star Alliance Gold does have something to do with it.
