Hertz - Upgrades/Green Collection/ Ameniti and Premium's in Las Vegas

I have an upgrade question.

I have a week long rental out of the Las Vegas airport on Jan 13 and I have two cars reserved.

The first is $205 for the week for the Hertz Green Collection (Toyota Camry). I used the United Airlines weekly discount and double mileage CDP and PC.

Then today I booked a Premium car (Crown Victoria or similar) for the same time period for $254 using my Ameniti discount and united mileage perk.

Supposedly I have an upgrade sitting on my account from a previous Hertz mistake, this is my issue I really don’t want the Camry but I want that rate. I read somewhere that if Hertz does not have your Green Collection model in-stock they will only move you into another Green Collection vehicle. Should I stick with the Camry and hope they will bump me into something bigger since my account has been noted or should I go with the higher rate and take the premium? I really don’t want a Crown Victoria and would really prefer leather since I will have it on a week long road-trip. I am hoping that bump me into a Volvo XC 70 wagon since I am an Ameniti person put me into something with AWD and leather.

Has anyone rented a premium out of Las Vegas? If so what was it?

Thanks.

If it's really important to you then I would just book what you like instead of playing the upgrade game.

If you don't want a camry, then you shouldn't book it. The rates that don't say "or similar" will usually try to put you in the vehicle you reserved.

My understanding is that upgrades don't "sit" in your account electronically as there is no where to note that you are due an upgrade. They should have sent you a coupon or other compensation for a mistake.

That said, you never know what they'll put you in if they decide to upgrade you.

Crown Vics have leather seats.

For a week long road trip, I'd actually like the Camry. The (slightly better) gas mileage and the lower rate would be nice for my wallet.

Generally speaking I wouldn't expect an upgrade into a Prestige car but it has been known to happen. Personally, I'd take the Camry reservation and try to see what else they have available when you arrive. I think they would let you take a Taurus or Ford 500 (which generally has leather) instead of the Camry if they have one -- but you would need to be prepared to actually end up in the Camry.

If money is less important I'd book the Premium and expect you will end up in a car with leather. The Kia is a nice Premium as well.

I am going with the Camry. I reran the reservation and the price dropped from 205 to 163 for the week. I can't beat that. With that price I will go and pay little extra to get an upgrade. It will still end up probably be less than the Crown Vic for 250. Thanks.
