I have thought about setting up this as a site myself, but I don't want to duplicate work that has already been done.

Does anybody know if there is a website that lists what table (card) games are at each strip casino? I'm not talking about blackjack or pai gow, which are pretty much at everyone, but some of the carnival games, such as WPT all-in hold'em (at NYNY, Wynn, Bellagio, Mirage, MGM, TI) or the game that I just found and may become addicted to, Texas Strike (at Hooters).

Sometimes the game-maker lists the casinos, but not all of them, and it would nice to have a reference, even though I realize it would change often.

Maybe you should add this to your website DMark, which is excellent and which I agree with everything (except for your opinion on Red Robin burgers--I hate that place!).

What is Texas Strike? I plan on going out in late Jan. or Feb. 2007 and maybe I would like to try my hand at that. I looked on the Hooters Casino website and it said they had a game called Texas Shootout. Is that the same game? It is more like Texas Hold'Em but against the dealer? I played the WPT version last year at Binions and lost $50 in about 5 hands. Swore I would never play that again!

Thanks,

Yeah, it is Texas shootout; I wrote it wrong in my original post.

The way the game works:

It is dealt out of a shoe (like blackjack) and there are 6 decks. You choose the best two out of the four cards to play and discard two; if you have a great four cards (i.e. two kings and two aces), you can split them and play both hands (you have to double your bet then, as if you were splitting in blackjack).

After every player fixes their hands, the dealer chooses two of four cards by a predetermined formula. They then place the five common cards out and it is heads up you against the dealer. The house edge is that they win on ties.

Order of hands (I think):

5 of a kind suited (This has not yet been dealt at the Hooters casino)
Royal Flush
Straight flush
5 of a kind
Then the regular poker hands in order.

There is also a bonus bet that pays off if you get at least a straight. If you bet $5, you get an "envy" bonus, but to hit it, the winner must have at least 5 of a kind.

It takes a little while to get used to, but it is a fun game. Enjoy!

I've player Texas Shootout in Canada, and thought it was okay.

A game that is becoming popular around Seattle is Ultimate Texas Hold'em. The Casinos that have it are listed on the Shufflemaster site. A bunch of the “Carnival” games and where they are played are listed there.
