My partner and I, both in our late 30's, are looking to stay in Las Vegas next month. Never been there before so would appreciate any and all suggestions on where to stay.

Since we've recently established that all the Vegas hotels will be totally gay-friendly, I'm going to move this over to the Vegas forum where you'll be able to get a lot more advice. They'll also be able to give you a lot of great info for a first-time visitor.

Hi,

When are you planning on going to Las Vegas?

The weekends tend to be more expensive than during the week.

Also I think during the first couple of weeks in January there is a MAJOR convention in Las Vegas ( the hotel prices are very high generally ( if you can get availability)

What do you plan doing in LV ( casinos, sightseeing, clubbing?) and do you have your own transportation.

During January most hotel pools will be closed ( some hotels may have one pool open)

For a first timer ( with a reasonable budget) I would probably suggest Staying on or very near the Strip ( LV Boulevard) for the experience.

I personally like the Mandalay Bay and THE Hotel at Mandalay Bay as it is generally good value for money.
Luxor is ook but a bit cheaper.
These hotels are at the southern end of the strip but you can walk to the Excalibur then cross ot the MGM for the monorail taking you parallel to the strip to the Las Vegas Hilton.

Other hotels that are mid strip are monte carlo, alladin ( SPG property) Paris ,bALLYS Bellagio, Venetian, Wynn, Mirage and Treasure Island.

www.cheapovegas.com has a good general overview of the hotels and atomsphere.

enjoy las vegas.

Regards

Assuming the second comment in this thread was accurate and you are refering to Gay-friendly locations, all of the hotels/casinos in Las Vegas are very Gay-friendly, with lots of Gay and Lesbian employees as well.

Should you be interested, there actually is a Gay motel, Blue Moon - but if you are just here to soak up the Vegas experience, pick any of the major hotel/casinos and you will be just fine.

I have listed the places on my website, along with some other info you might find relevant in the "Sex" section of the website.

Have a great time! Always happy to see "Vegas virgins" arrive - I think you guys will have the time of your life!

Depending on your exact January dates, there are some good deals. Wynn has a $159 rate mentioned in another thread in this forum - be sure to check it out. Wynn would be an excellent choice for a first-time Vegas stay - all the king bedded rooms face the Strip IIRC.

Another great first-time Vegas experience is Bellagio, and they're all the way down to $139 on some nights in January. That promo code is D1592E, bookable online or through the link https://reservations.mgmmirage.com/bookingengine.aspx?pid=190&host=promo&Code=D1592E

Only six hotels listed there, and no discounts that aren't already at much more comprehensive sites including www.travelzoo.com and http://www.vegashotelspecial.com/index.php/category/las-vegas-hotel-special/
