KLM Flying Dutchman - Speedy efficient response from FD to an email

I emailed in MAY (2002) re a simple problem I hoped KLM would be able to look at for 2 Royal Wings. Not a single word since, until just now in AUGUST. They did not use my name on the email to me, (how tough is that to do?) and no name of person sending it shows. They have my request entirely garbled and wrong - did not seem to understand it at all, and even if they did, it is months late. These guys are on another planet when it comes to responding to emails.

As a point of comparison any email I send to the UA 1K line receives a precise personal response in 24 hours usually, (once was 15 minutes!) and 72 hours was the longest I ever waited. They READ the email, and attend to the question. Interesting comparison.

[i]Dear Flying Dutchman Member,

Thank you for your e-mail. May we apologize for the delay in reply.

Unfortunately, however, your request is unclear. It seems that you were unable to be upgraded on a flight that your were waiting for, and that your Flying Dutchman number was not inserted in the booking.

A way to avoid this in the future is to ensure you advise your travel agent of the number and ask them to insert it, or to call the Flying Dutchman helpdesk to make sure that it is inserted. You can also make your seat number reservations through the helpdesk.

If you feel there is some action you would like KLM Flying Dutchman to take in relation to this e-mail, may we suggest that you contact the KLM Flying Dutchman helpdesk and explain your situation for the best possible outcome.

We are sorry that we can not be of further assistance at this time.

The Helpdesk will gladly assist you with any further questions or remarks you might have. Please find our telephone numbers at the bottom of this e-mail.

Yours sincerely,

Flying Dutchman Helpdesk

Maybe that's the explanation for it all. They hired some little green men from that planet far away...
