Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer - SQ 220 (SYD-SIN) Waitlist Question

I have a CCPSTAR2 ticket (Circle Pacific fare, D class), all segments are confirmed except SYD-SIN. All C/J/D seats on all three SQ flights are sold out on that day, the previous day and the following day.

Those of you who've been waitlisted before, what's your experience on clearing the waitlist? Does UA 1K/*A Gold trump KF Silver? I'm not counting on being UG but don't want to sit in Y if I paid D class for this flight. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Since becoming PPS I generally clear waitlist (but not quite always). Without PPS status a bit hit and miss.

Early January 2007. I thought about flying OS to KUL and then SQ to SIN as a backup. BTW I am both UA 1K/*A Gold and KF Silver. Which status trumps the other?

If you have a TA who knows what he's doing.. he can trump both!

I am frequently waitlisted on the SQ SYD-SIN flights and I never had an issue getting it confirmed. Calling them up through the Singapore call centre helps. Good luck anyway.
