I bumped into a good CDP it has a pretty good contract rate, and it waives the underage fee even in NY (except for rentals starting on weekends)

Enjoy

Just wondering, and I wish someone from Hertz could actually chime in on this, but aren't you technically supposed to be part of the group you are renting under to use that CDP? From what I understand, a non-employee or non-group member using a CDP could get in deep .... (read: sued by Hertz) for using a CDP. So, if you're on a CDP that offers insurance and a great rate and then are involved in an accident, the insurance and rate can/will be made void and you'll be stuck with the bill for it.

Personally, I have nothing against doing this or finding ways to lower rates, but I just wanted to share what I recalled from working there a few years ago.

Any insurance provided by a CDP you're not authorized to use is null and void if you're in an accident. Aside from that, I really don't think Hertz cares all that much if you're underage and use an "unauthorized" CDP that waives the $25/day fee...I'm a member of the ABA and rented several times when I was age 24, and not once was I asked for ABA ID, at a few different locations. YMMV.

I agree with wahooflyer I am an ABA member and am only 24 (3L). I have rented multiple times every year since I started Law School and only once was I asked if I was an ABA member, and even then I was not required (or asked) to produce my membership card.
