Mexico - Lounge in Cancun airportView Full Version : Lounge in Cancun airport gungadin Dec 6, 06, 4:56 am Can anyone tell me which airlines have lounges in this airport. Also, there seems to be one lounge that you can pay for there--has anyone used it? Thanks number_6 Dec 6, 06, 12:36 pm AA uses the Mexicana lounge. This is a recent arrangement (less than a year old), prior to this I think no US-based airline had a lounge at CUN. An alternative to using a lounge if you have to pay for it is to hang out at the TGIF restaurant upstairs, it is a lot like a lounge and has better margaritas. gungadin Dec 7, 06, 4:40 am ahhh--thanks! bkramt1 Dec 11, 06, 8:07 am The AeroMexico lounge is also there, with access for SkyTeam partners. bkramt1 Dec 31, 07, 2:36 pm This might be old news to some, but I just returned from Cancun this week (my yearly r&r trip) and departed from the new terminal. There are no airline lounges in terminal 3. MKEbound Jan 11, 08, 9:36 pm Is the AeroMexico lounge airside? Is it accesable from the Northwest Airline gates? There are no airline lounges in terminal 3. Are you sure? This is from the Priority Pass website: Airport: cancun - International (CUN), Terminal 3 Lounge: business lounge Location: Airside - after Security, exit the Duty Free Shop and turn right towards the 'Bubba Gump' restaurant. Turn right to the end of the hall where a sign indicates the Lounge entrance. The Lounge is only accessible to passengers departing on international flights. Opening Hours: 08:00 - 21:00 chamonix Jan 12, 08, 3:12 pm I can't recall where I saw this recently, but I was looking at a map of Terminal 3 that had a space labeled "VIP Lounge" on it. We'll be there in 6 weeks. GUWonder Jan 12, 08, 8:44 pm Are you sure? Opening Hours: 08:00 - 21:00 Terminal 3 has a "Business Lounge" -- Priority Pass-affiliated -- that is not operated by any of the major US airlines flying out of there. When I looked into it this year, the door was locked and it looked empty -- I am not sure why that was the case late morning. The US airlines that fly out of Terminal 3 -- including AA, DL, CO, NW, US, UA -- do not have their own or a partner airline lounge in that terminal. GUWonder Jan 12, 08, 8:49 pm Is the AeroMexico lounge airside? Is it accesable from the Northwest Airline gates? NW gates are in Terminal 3, and from there AeroMexico's terminal is not accessible on foot. Even to go from the terminal AeroMexico uses to the Terminal the major US airlines use requires a landside van transfer AFAIK and experienced. If there is an airside transfer possibility, I was not informed of it when originating trips out of CUN on flights departing Terminal 3 this year. mcgahat Mar 15, 09, 1:21 am Bumping this to see if anyone has had any experience with the "Business Lounge" in T3? It still shows on the Priority Pass website but I haven't been able to dig up any info on it. Also, are air side transfers not possible between T3 and T2? T2 has a couple of other lounges. It is a pleasant lounge. I was there 2x last year. Small snackiecake/petit sandwich selection, adequate bar selections, massage chairs, friendly staff, several computer terminals that work from time to time. mcgahat Mar 15, 09, 1:56 am It is a pleasant lounge. Thanks for the quick reply. I am happy there is a lounge option in T3. Do you remember if they had free wifi? Eastbay1K Mar 15, 09, 12:10 pm Thanks for the quick reply. This was not true when I visited the Saturday after NYE. Given that is one of the busiest days of the year at CUN, but T-3 sadly more pleasant than the lounge which was overcrowded and overrun with small children (some not well behaved). The food selection was mediocre and made the RCCs look good. The open bar was the only nice feature - I snagged a couple of free drinks from the frig and headed out. On the plus side it is better than anything you find in Terminal 3 at SJD, but that's not saying much. Eastbay1K Mar 18, 09, 6:53 pm This is true. The 2 times I was there, it was nearly ghost-town city. ^ mcgahat Mar 18, 09, 7:31 pm The 2 times I was there, it was nearly ghost-town city. ^ Hopefully the lounge gods will be smiling on me and the wife as we head through in a couple of weeks but it is the tail end of spring break so who knows. I am hoping the spring breakers aren't PP members. :) mcgahat Apr 1, 09, 2:50 pm Ok, posting from the Mera lounge in T3. It is fairly small but well decorated with mostly U shaped sofas for seating. There are many computer terminals if you need them and also wifi for no fee. There is an open fridge with sodas, juices and waters with a coffee machine next to it and a bar area which has a lady that pours your drinks. They have a cash register at the bar and dont know what that is for as I havent paid for a red wine yet. Food is simple but enough, chips, nuts, sandwiches. There is a flight display screen and several LCD tv's overhead. Small but pleasant lounge, my wife and I are two of about eight people in here right now. I can see how it could get full easily though. Edited to add, they do have massage chairs which my wife just used. :) |
