Payable at the airport (HAN)? For flights after Jan 7 (I believe), the tax is tacked onto your airfare. But before that, yes, it's still $14. jimbo99 Dec 5, 06, 12:50 am duplicate jimbo99 Dec 5, 06, 12:54 am For flights after Jan 7 (I believe), the tax is tacked onto your airfare. IceTrojan Dec 5, 06, 1:04 am I've heard that as of a few days ago, this was already the case in SGN. I suppose it could have something to do with when your ticket was issued... I got my previous info from reading the board of a travel agent yesterday. I did find this: 18 October 2006 "According to Vietnam Airlines, the national flag carrier, starting on November 1st, the departure fee for all international flights departing from Vietnam will be included in the ticket price." http://www.ivivu.com/vietnam_travel/vietnam_travel_news/n/0610/Vietnam_Departure_Tax_to_be_Included_in_Airline_Ti ckets/ SaigonCyclo Dec 7, 06, 12:17 am If you buy your ticket now, the departure tax is included. If you bought your ticket prior to 11/1, you'll need to pay for your departure tax ($14 at both Hanoi and HCMC) before you check in. mcg1000 Dec 7, 06, 10:25 pm My travel agent told me I had to pay at the airport, but the ticket was issued on 24 November. There is a Tax/Fee/Charge of VND 226,000 which I suspect maybe the departure tax. I will let you know what happens at HAN. Many travel agents aren't aware of the change in the policy. dtsm Dec 8, 06, 10:32 am Just back from HCMC, tix bought/issued early Nov, entered 26th of Nov and exited 30th, no departure tax. mcg1000 Dec 20, 06, 5:06 pm My travel agent was wrong. Departure tax was already paid. Should be marked JCQ on the ticket. |
