Well today I was supposed to make a trip down to NPL, my first time flying on NZ's propellor planes. A colleague was flying across the ditch and I was to take over their work for the day. I drove to HLZ, and the departures area was practically empty. I checked in and was given some weird small BPs and got the code to the Koru Club written down on one. My BPs didn't say *G on them, and I noticed that my UA MP # was missing a digit. Back to checkin, BPs reprinted, with the all-important UA*G. Now I know i'll get the miles. The flight was delayed 35 mins, but before I heard a boarding call for the flight, I heard a final boarding call for ME to board the waiting aircraft, and I flew out of the lounge.

It was a short flight over to AKL, I have to try and fly on propellors more often, sure was fun. Both airports looking like construction sites. I headed through security to the Koru Club, which was nice and spacious, with no cosntruction happening! I checked my email and sent a fax in the empty business centre, and then went to chill out. While there I got an sms from a mate who had just arrived in SYD, and was on his way to say hi before he leaves to LAX at night.

I only had a few minutes before shceduled boarding, so we said our hi and bye but my flight wasn't boarding yet, so we talked and waited and talked and waited, until eventually my flight went mechanical. I was going to rebook for the next flight out, but called the boss who told me to stay put. Eventually it was decided I should just go back to HLZ. They rented me car to drive, so we just went to AKL instead. Popped by a bar, watched some of the Ashes test that was on. What more do you expect from a couple of Aussies? I've just got one complaint, why is it so hard to find parking in AKL city? Not even car parks where you PAY!
