Other Car Rental Programs/Partners (ie. Alamo, Enterprise, Sixt) - what happened to Alamo?

When you go to the Alamo website, it forwards you to National, but the URL doesn't change.

I know Alamo and National have the same parent company. When did Alamo get dissolved and or incorporated into National? I can't find any news about it here or on google. :confused:

Alamo.com is working now for me too. What made me question the demise of Alamo was the relegation of it's forum section to here, the "Other Car Rental Programs."

I dont know, but you rent Alamo get lower prices and at most places get you to choose your car and it is the same as national cars (on same lot). Why pay more for the same thing???

I know at several airports, Alamo and National combined counters, so you'd have one giant counter that was half Alamo/half National. Are they still doing that?

At most car rental places I have been to the counters are slpit between Alamo and National. And the van that picks you up when the rental is off from the airport is for both Alamo and National.
